In Isla Negra, most of the residents are illiterate. A young postman, Mario, is responsible for delivering mail to Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda. A beautiful friendship develops between them, and Neruda's poetry gives the bumbling mailman the amorous words to win the love of his dream girl — Beatriz. Through the frank speeches with Neruda, Mario realized the beauty and meaning of life.
