The Money King: GOKU - A Programme of the 29th Hong Kong Arts Festival
P200001-19
Description

The picaresque adventures of the Monkey King and his companions on their Journey to the West have enthralled countless generations of children and adults alike. Embark now on a modern retelling of an episode in the classic tale as the pilgrimage is stalled by the 400-kilometre-wide River to Heaven; many have tried to cross, but few have succeeded. Planning their next move, the pilgrims learn of a child-gobbling monster in the area; the Monkey King and Pigsy decide something has to be done to stop the rapacious beast.

This unique collaboration between four theatre companies from three countries, each contributing with its own dramatic traditions, takes us on a thrilling adventure of discovery — of strange lands, different cultures and new forms of communication.
