To Fa-wan and Mok Kit-ching are neighbours, the former dissatisfies with his despotic wife while the latter her neglecting husband. One day, they decide to go to Macau for a furtive night. But what awaits them is the old, ragged and ghostly Spring Fever Hotel. Unexpected people keep bumping into the hotel and spoil their plan. Can they shake off the crowd and this unmanageable night?
Directed by Bernard Goss, then Chung Ying's Artistic Director, Spring Fever Hotel was first staged in the 1987 Hong Kong Arts Festival. Receiving critical acclaim and popular support, the play was staged three times within four months.
Now, Spring Fever Hotel will be back to the stage and Wong May-lan, the Assistant Director when the play was first staged, will return from Singapore to direct the play, bringing this renowned Chung Ying farce to drama-lovers.
