A lighthearted musical presented by Chung Ying Theatre Company. Old Master Q is based on the famous 1960s Old Master Q & Dai Far-shu comic strip created by Hong Kong cartoonist, Alphonso Wong. Born in the psychedelic decade, Old Master Q returns from the hermit's life to find himself a social outcast in the 1990s, with nothing to do but fool around with his sidekick, Dui Fan-shu.
This Laurel & Hardy-style comedy follows the antics of Old Master Q and Dai Fan-shu when the former is summoned by an ancestor to carry out a hallowed social mission. With humorous supporting characters created by playwright Cheung Tat-ming especially for this Chung Ying production, the cast presents us with an amusing satire revealing Old Master Q's insights on the jaded world of the 1990s. A highlight of the play is the inventive use of make-up and costumes to make characters look like they have just stepped out of the pages of a comic book.
