Description

The play is set in a Chinese village in Canton after the Cultural Revolution, in around 1980. The Chan's family in the play is a poor one — village people at that time were usually poor. Deng Xiaoping's initiation to reform brought people hopes for better life, and people tried different ways of earning money.
Amid the changing era, the Chan's family undergone a great change.
