Donkey Work (Re-run)
P198687-22
Description

The donkey in the play is originally a rich man who is an ardent lover of magic. He is turned into a donkey for peeping at Phoebe while she is exercising her magical power. Afterwards, 'it' makes friend with a horse it formerly reared, from whom it learns the sufferings of donkeys and horses.

Later, the donkey sets out to search for ways to take off the charm. Not only does it meet with many amusing incidents during its journey, it also comes into contact with various types of people, including a money-minded robber, an illiterate bride, a gardener who supports his living by selling carrot, a Roman soldier who bullies the old and the weak, a butcher and a baker who want to turn the donkey into a 'donkey pie' and another Roman soldier who wants to make money by forcing it to give singing and dancing performances.

The play is exciting, funny and interesting. Using ingenious tactics, the actors bring the children audience to the world of the play, enabling them to get involved without noticing it.
