The Royal Hunt Of The Sun
P198384-20
Description

This production, first performed by the National Theatre of Great Britain in 1964, lends itself to the differing skills of the two companies with a magical blend of words, dance and music. It tells the story of Francisco Pizarro who led a small band of Spanish soldiers through the jungles and over the mountains of South America in the search for the fabled golden cities of the Inca Empire; of the slaughter of the unarmed Peruvian Indians; of the meeting with the man-god Atahuallpa-his imprisonment, ransom and eventual death.
