The Miracle Plays are the simple dramatisation of individual incidents from the lives of the Saints and the Passion of Christ, evolved into the public performance of as many as 32 plays. While Chung Ying Theatre selected three plays, including 'The Shepherd's Play', 'Noah and His Ark' and 'King Herod' to perform, the production has tried to re-capture the down to earth quality and the broad humour, which must have made the medieval performances so lively and entertaining, and essentially theatrical.
