Betty Mak served Executive Director of Chung Ying from 2019 to 2023. She is a veteran arts administrator and has been serving various leading arts organisations in Hong Kong.

Mak served in Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) from 1998 to 2019 and worked as the Director, External Programmes and Arts Space Director before joining Chung Ying. She was responsible for projects in cultural exchange and arts space development and led a wide range of art initiatives including Hong Kong's participations in the Venice Biennale (Art/Architecture), Liverpool Biennale, OzAsia Festival, Mainland cultural expo and festivals; the renovation of revitalised industrial building units into arts studios and the development for new arts venues; the collaboration with renowned arts institutions and universities abroad for customised training programmes for local arts administrators; annual thematic surveys on local arts development; public forums and international conferences, etc.

Prior to her position in HKADC, Mak served as the Administration Manager of Chung Ying from 1993 to 1997 and the Controller of Venue Operations of Hong Kong Arts Centre.
