Dominic served as Chung Ying's General Manager from 2011 to 2019. He serves as Chung Ying's Artistic Director from April 2019 and involved various areas in theatre including producing, directing, acting, translation and writing theatre critics.
He started acting professionally early in his secondary school days. He collaborated in founding the Seals Theatre Company in 1979, actively involving in on-stage and off-stage duties. After graduating in English from Hong Kong Baptist University (then Hong Kong Baptist College) in 1982, he began his acting career with Chung Ying Theatre Company. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Translation from the University of Hong Kong in 1989 and was also the General Manager of High Noon Production Co. Ltd at that period of time. He has been serving as the Vice President of Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies since 1994. He collaborated in founding Theatre Space in 1998. In 2011, he obtained his Master of Fine Arts in Drama (Directing) from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Dominic has been nominated 11 times for the Best Director. He was awarded the Best Director (Comedy/Farce) and the Best Director (Tragedy/Drama) from the Hong Kong Drama Awards with Move over Mrs Markham and Twelve Angry Men in 1994 and 2004 respectively. He was also nominated for the Best Leading Actor (Comedy/Farce) with The Sister Rosensweig. He was awarded the Outstanding Translator—Silver Jubilee Commemorative Award from the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies in 2009. In 2014, he was awarded a commendation certificate from the Secretary for Home Affairs, as a recognition of his contributions in local arts and cultural development.
He is now the Vice President of Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies, Arts Advisor (Arts Administration) and Examiner (Drama) of The Arts Development Council, TV Programmes Advisory Panellist of Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), Honorary Artistic Director of The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong Women's Club Community Drama Troupe, Board of Directors of Theatre Space and iStage.
